About XT Fitness
The idea of XT started 11 years ago when Jim realized the traditional gym just wasn't cutting it anymore. Machines were out, functional fitness was in. A couple of years later, XT Fitness was born. Functional, full-body classes that change every day of the week. Guided workouts with exercises that can be modified for beginners while still tough for the experienced; allowing the individual to choose their own fitness goals. Some days pushing themselves to the max; other days just showing up. Group classes that create community and fosters relationships and helps with motivation. A gym where if you aren't there, you're missed.
Fitness isn't easy. Consistency isn't easy. Life isn't easy. It can be a whole lot easier with the right mindset. This TEDx talk sums up three principles XT strives to live by.
(1)Practice rigorous authenticity: We all have insecurities and fears. Being open about fitness fears weakens their hold over us.
(2)Surrender the outcome: Focus on the process, make fitness a lifestyle. Don't tie ego/self-esteem to strict fitness goals.
(3)Do uncomfortable work: Fitness can be uncomfortable; physically and mentally. However, this short-term pain leads to incalculable long-term gains. Both in fitness and beyond.
MEET THE TEAM
GYM OWNER/ FITNESS CREATOR/ CLASS OVERSEER
Jim's start with fitness started at The University of Findlay where he played basketball and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. His fitness career started after college as a personal trainer at two of the top rated health clubs in the country. Previously, he owned and operated Jim's Gym and Jim's Hot Dogs in Findlay, OH. Jim also motivates and entertains through his Fit to Achieve motivational speaking. More information about Fit to Achieve can be found under the Motivational Speaking heading.
Greg started his fitness career with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Wellness from BGSU. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience in boys and girls basketball, volleyball, and softball. With 8 years coaching at the collegiate level in men's and women's basketball and strength and conditioning coach. Greg has been an instructor and personal trainer at XT since 2015 and has found his niche training local middle school and high school athletes.
Sue became a fitness instructor while in college more than 35 years ago. She has earned certifications in group exercise instruction, cycling, kick boxing and yoga. She loves sharing her fitness knowledge and helping others create a fit and healthy lifestyle; both in a class setting and individually. With an ever-changing fitness industry, Sue enjoys bringing new philosophies and techniques to members to help them reach their goals.
Jim Steffen offers motivational speaking services for a variety of different events and occasions. Jim loves to share positive energy, outlook, and life philosophy with your group.
